Home Crew is A Brighter Way’s social enterprise and a unique service provided to our members—formerly incarcerated individuals seeking meaningful work, growth, and connection. Home Crew is intentionally designed to be multi-faceted in its healing, offering more than just a job. It’s a pathway to transformation, stability, and a renewed sense of belonging.

At the heart of Home Crew is relationship-based support. We recognize that reentry into the workforce brings unique challenges—stigma, gaps in employment, and limited access to opportunity. Our team, many with lived experience themselves, provides empathy, mentorship, and real-world guidance, helping participants heal, build confidence, and chart their own futures.

Key Features

• Paid, Real-World Experience: Home Crew offers paid internships and employment in construction, property maintenance, and related trades, providing hands-on learning and a living wage.

• Skill Development & Advancement: Participants gain practical skills, industry certifications, and on-the-job training to support career growth and leadership development.

• Peer Support & Mentorship: Our team fosters a supportive environment where individuals learn from each other, share experiences, and heal together.

• Wrap-Around Support: Beyond employment, we connect members to housing, health care, and other essential resources, ensuring holistic support for reentry and personal growth.

• Community Partnerships: Home Crew collaborates with local businesses, landlords, and community organizations to expand opportunities and challenge stigma, demonstrating the value and talent of people with lived experience.

 

Home Crew is more than a job—it’s a service, a community, and a launchpad for healing and new beginnings. We believe that when people are given the tools, trust, and opportunity to succeed, they help build stronger communities for us all.

We seek to improve the Quality of Life of those formerly incarcerated and their families through the dignity of work and belonging.
